Disaster Plan Recovery

Disaster recovery plan (DRP) is the method, measures and policies related to recovery or maintenance of technological infrastructure essential to an business if a natural or human-induced disaster were to happen; disaster recovery.

Disaster recovery planning (DRP) should include;

  • planning for resumption of application disaster recovery,
  • data disaster recovery,
  • hardware disaster recovery,
  • communications (such as networking) disaster recovery
  • and other IT infrastructure disaster recovery.

 

A complement of disaster recovery plan (DRP) is known as, a business continuity plan (BCP), which also includes planning for non-IT related aspects such as;

  • key personnel disaster recovery,
  • Facilities disaster recovery,
  • crisis communication in disaster recovery
  • and reputation protection in disaster recovery.

This should transfer to the disaster recovery plan (DRP) for IT related infrastructure recovery and continuity.
